Your home inspector gives you the Big Picture analysis of the house you are purchasing. Our inspection service is a visual inspection of the structural elements and systems which are accessible.

Our inspections are performed to the Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). ASHI is recognized as the leading authority on home inspections across the country and many states that require licensing have based their regulations on the ASHI Standards. Some states, including Missouri, do not require licensing so it is important to adhere to the ASHI Standards.

When Should You get a Home Inspection?

Termites and

Other Pests

We highly recommended that you get a termite inspection in addition to your general home inspection.

Termites and other wood-destroying insects such as carpenter ants can do massive damage to a home and greatly impact its value. We have a licensed inspector perform thorough inspections for termites and other wood-destroying organisms.

Health-Damaging

Mold in the Home

There is a little mold everywhere – indoors and outdoors. When mold spores drop where there is excessive moisture in your home, they will grow. Excessive growth can affect the hability and value of a property.

We offer thorough mold inspections that determine whether the number of spores inside your home is significantly high.

We use the latest technology chemicals to perform thorough remediation with minimal labor, leading to the lower-cost cleanup of mold.

Inspecting Your

Septic System

A failed septic system can be very hazardous to health and can be expensive to repair. We strongly recommend a septic inspection as part of your purchase.

To reduce public health risks and protect drinking water supplies, state legislation sets minimum construction, design, and permitting standards for onsite sewage systems.

A house with a septic system should have an inspection performed by a licensed septic inspector to ensure it is performing correctly. A septic tank/absorption field is the most common onsite sewage treatment system in use in Missouri and failing systems result not only in water quality problems and nuisance conditions but also in costly repairs.

We'll Inspect Your

Sewer Lateral System

The sewer lateral is the main drain from the house that connects to the municipal sewer system. Many problems can occur from root blockage, collapse, or misalignment that interrupt the flow and can require expensive repairs.

A sewer lateral inspection is done by sending a video camera through the drain to document the condition of the pipe and look for any concerns.

Gas

Inspections

Natural gas and propane gas systems consist of pipes running from outside to deliver gas to appliances in the house. Gas leaks are very hazardous and can lead to fire or explosion and faulty appliances can malfunction and produce carbon monoxide, a deadly gas.

A gas inspection checks for leaks and appliance function to attempt to detect any hazardous conditions or required maintenance or replacements.

Test for

Radon Gas

We perform radon inspections using Honeywell continuous radon monitors.

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the natural decay of uranium in the soil. The gas then seeps through any access point into a home. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking and in smokers, greatly increases the risk of lung cancer.

Proper testing and mitigation, can eliminate radon as a health threat. For more information, visit the EPA web site on radon at http://www.epa.gov/radon. Typical radon mitigation systems can cost between $500 and $2000.
